Take the stress out of the holidays and get together on the Cajun Coast! Not only will you find a lot to do for the whole family, but amazing dining, holiday festivities, and great holiday hotel rates await you on the Cajun Coast!

Our beautiful, historic towns dress up for the holidays, featuring lighting ceremonies, tours, celebrations, shopping, and a Santa sighting or two to get you in the holiday spirit! See our complete list of activities for the holiday season!

You’ll find year-round activities for everyone to do as well on the Cajun Coast. With fairly mild temperatures, even in the winter, outdoor activities are available.

While some November days may prove a little cool for spotting alligators, tour operators, like Captain Caviar, provide entertaining and educational tours of the beauty and mystery of the Atchafalaya waters. If you prefer to get a little more up-close and personal, he can provide your needs for kayaking, too, and we have plenty of paddling trails for your outing.

Nature lovers can find options for spotting birds and other creatures on dry ground as well. Birding and beauty combine, not far off the beaten path at Morgan City’s Brownell Carillon Bell Tower which features a designated bird sanctuary and has walking paths throughout the swamp, enhanced by the music of the carillon bells that ring every 15 minutes.

If your birdies are numbers on a score card, the Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild has you covered for more beauty and a challenging, Audubon Golf Trail course. Or if you prefer your challenges angling for the big catch, fishing is plentiful. There are many skilled captains to take you inland or offshore for a day on the water.

Kids love to explore in the great outdoors, but if winter weather does rear its head, you can head indoors to explore the Wedell-Williams Cypress Sawmill and Aviation Museum. Fascinating history of innovation and speed will hold their interest – at least for a little while.

Shopping is as bountiful as a Thanksgiving table, with quaint Main Street offerings throughout the area where you’ll find eclectic gift options to bring home memories or just win at holiday shopping!

For the history buffs in your group there are Civil War sites, awe-inspiring churches, and grand estates that have stood the test of time. There are 400 spots on the National Register of Historic Places in the City of Franklin alone! The Chitimacha Museum in Charenton also chronicles the history of the Sovereign Nation of the Chitimacha on the Cajun Coast.

Grown-ups need a night out as well, and our Live Music listings will give you a lot of genres to make everyone happy. Casino-action can also fill your nights, with Cypress Bayou and Amelia Belle promising excitement, if not always a winning hand!

Your time together will be the biggest win, so plan to join your family and friends to holiday on the Cajun Coast!
