DESCRIPTION:Hosted by T.E.C.H.E. Projects.\nCome explore Bayou Teche with us and learn about water safety\, paddling\, native plants\, recycling and more.\n“Geaux Paddle” recreation program is offering paddling opportunities for kids ages 10-14 on Bayou Teche.\nThe goal of Geaux Paddle is to get kids who have never paddled comfortable with paddling and then out enjoying Bayou Teche\,\nthe first National Water Trail in Louisiana! This program will include safety instruction\, an experiment on water testing\,\npaddle to New Iberia City Park\, and an art project with Margaret Simon.\nThe paddle portion will also teach about wood duck boxes and the importance of providing safe nest sites for reproduction;\neducation on flora and fauna and the importance of native plants; and trash pickup.\nAdvance registration is required.
