Project and Visit St. Martin Parish\, Louisiana.\nThis event is a fundraiser for The TECHE Project\, and proceeds go toward building the Bayou Teche National Paddle Trail\,\nwhich has access docks and other amenities for paddlers in the 15 towns along Bayou Teche.\nPaddle with us to celebrate the beautiful Bayou Teche National Paddle Trail!\nOur whacky Paddle Parade will start at Poche’s Country Club. Once again\, we will have 2 options to paddle:\nThe typical 4.5 mi./2 hr. paddle to Parc des Ponts in Breaux Bridge OR a longer 6.5 mi./2.45 hr. paddle to Lil’s on the Teche in Breaux Bridge.\nRegistration is now open on Eventbrite. All tickets include a Festival Pin with this year’s bird: the Blue Jay.\nThere will be a Pre-Paddle Shuttle ($5 cash at the bus) from each location. (The shuttle bus leaves Lil’s at 9 a.m. and Parc des Ponts at 9:15 a.m.).\nTwo bands on decorated barges will accompany the paddlers down the bayou to set the mood!\nStarting at noon\, there will be lunch trucks\, libations\, merch sales\, kids’ activities\, and live music by Balfa Toujours until 2 p.m.\nIf you choose the longer paddle\, you will still have time to play at the park\, so plan to have lunch with us and support The TECHE Project.\nTickets are $10-$15. *Please note that registration does not include kayak rental\, lunch or shuttle.

The following is more information: \nExperience LIVING ALONG THE ATCHAFALAYA\, a once in a lifetime showing of historic photos\, focusing on the mighty Atchafalaya River’s effects on the lives of the residents of the Berwick Bay area. \nAlthough the Atchafalaya River is the focus\, many topics are covered that touch our lives through our association with this body of water – floods\, ferries\, steamboats\, showboats\, industry\, and many more are covered. \nYou will hear stories and see images that have not been seen or heard by many of the residents of Morgan City and our area. \nJoin us\, during October\, on Mondays – Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 am.
