DESCRIPTION:During the month of November\, LIVING ALONG THE ATCHAFALAYA\, an exhibition of historic photographs and archival items will be displayed at the Cajun Coast Tourism Visitor’s Center\, 900 DR. MLK Blvd.\, Morgan City. The following is more information: \nExperience LIVING ALONG THE ATCHAFALAYA\, a once in a lifetime showing of historic photos\, focusing on the mighty Atchafalaya River’s effects on the lives of the residents of the Berwick Bay area. \nAlthough the Atchafalaya River is the focus\, many topics are covered that touch our lives through our association with this body of water – floods\, ferries\, steamboats\, showboats\, industry\, and many more are covered. \nYou will hear stories and see images that have not been seen or heard by many of the residents of Morgan City and our area. \nJoin us\, during November\, on Mondays – Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am. to 3 p.m. at the Cajun Coast Tourism Visitor’s Center. \nThere is no charge to view the exhibition\, and class field trips and groups are welcome. \nThanks are given to the H&B Young Foundation\, the Artists Guild Unlimited\, the City of Morgan City\, the Main Street Board\, and the Morgan City Archives for their assistance. \n

DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Bayou Bend Fitness Center.\nJoin us for November’s Bayou Bend Brown Bag Club series in the Conference Center inside the Wellness Center at Bayou Bend.\nNovember is Men’s Health Month\, and the topic\, “Men’s Wellness & Fitness” will be a discussion about how wellness and fitness\ngo hand-in-hand with men’s health. This month’s presentation will be led by Father Joel Faulk.\nMany know Father Joel as the Pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Franklin\nand at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville\, but he also majored in dietetics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette\nand overcame many severe health challenges to be where he is today.\nThis event is FREE to attend\, but we do ask that you please pre-register to ensure enough seating and lunches.\nTo inquire about this event and/or pre-register\, please call the Bayou Bend Fitness Center front desk at (337) 413-5104\nor stop by in person at 1029 Northwest Blvd. in Franklin.
