SUMMARY:Coastal Trash Couture Fashion Show
DESCRIPTION:Inaugural Coastal Trash Couture Fashion Show \nCajun Coast Tourism presents a one-of-a-kind fashion event featuring original designs made from recycled and discarded materials that highlight environmental awareness in Louisiana’s swamps and bayous. \nJoin us Sunday\, August 16\, 2026\, at 2 pm at the Bayou Vista Community Center (check-in begins at 11 am) as students in grades 5–12 showcase their creativity on the runway. Participants may enter individually or in groups (up to three designers per entry)\, with divisions for grades 5–8 and 9–12. \nThere is no cost to enter. Prizes will be awarded in each division\, along with a Best of Show winner. \nDesigns must be made of at least 75% recycled or reused materials and will be judged on creativity\, originality\, craftsmanship\, and environmental impact. All entries must include a model and a brief environmental fact to be shared during the show. \nRegistration is required by August 7\, 2026. Participants must complete an application and release form. \nLet your creativity shine while making a statement for the environment.
