The Bayou Teche Scenic Byway is home to two distinct cultures-the French Cajun culture of the upper Teche area and the Anglo-Saxon culture of the lower Teche. It is also home to an incredible beautiful natural landscape. As you travel the byway, you’ll enjoy everything from moss-draped live oak trees along the banks of the Bayou Teche to over 100 historic properties, many on the National Register of Historic Properties, many on the National Register of Historic Places.
