Inaugural Coastal Trash Couture Fashion Show

Cajun Coast Tourism presents a one-of-a-kind fashion event featuring original designs made from recycled and discarded materials that highlight environmental awareness in Louisiana’s swamps and bayous.

Join us Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Bayou Vista Community Center (check-in begins at 11 a.m.) as participants showcase their creativity on the runway. Divisions include Grades 5–8, Grades 9–12, and a new Adult Category (ages 18+). Participants may enter individually or in groups of up to three designers per entry.

There is no cost to enter. Prizes will be awarded in each student division, along with a Best of Show winner. The Adult Category will feature one overall winner who will receive a $200 gift card.

Designs must be made of at least 75% recycled or reused materials and will be judged on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, and environmental impact. All entries must include a model and a brief environmental fact to be shared during the show.

Registration is required by August 7, 2026. Participants must complete an application and release form.

Let your creativity shine while making a statement for the environment. Selected designs will be displayed at the Cajun Coast Welcome Center following the event.
